To adjust which contacts are associated with a tenancy, select the Tenancy, and then Tenancy Details on the left side menu:
Those located in Asia-Pacific and Europe will use the term Tenants, where customers located in North America will use the term Leases. For the purpose of this article, we will refer to it as Arrears and Tenants. For more information on regional terminology, refer to this article or contact support.
Tenancy Contacts are managed from within Tenancy Details. Navigate to the relevant Tenancy via the Global Search Box or Tenancies, and open the Tenant. Click on Tenancy Details:
1. The Primary, contact type is the main contact for the tenancy.
2. The Account, or Xero Invoice, contact type is the default contact that invoices will be made out to for this tenancy. The person assigned as the Account Contact can be changed by removing the 'Contact Name' and typing in a different name. If the contact you type in does not already exist, you'll see 'NEW' show on the end of the line.
To make adjustments to the name of a contact for a tenancy (for example to correct spelling), the contact itself can be edited instead. This will update how the name appears on any invoices and when viewing the Tenancy Summary.
Note: If you only have the one point of contact, the system will allow for you to have the same tenancy allocated to the Primary and Account Contact Types.
Search for the contact using the global search or click the name wherever you can see it (e.g: on an invoice or list of invoices, on the tenancy summary, in the contacts list).
Additional contacts can be associated with this tenancy using the +Add Contact option.
The tenancy notices that each contact receives can be set in the Notice Options.
See Tenancy Notice Options for more information on setting these up.
